Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for the role of the character Detective Diane Russell. Her credits include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was born the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and high-ranking executive of her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood in the company of four brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials following her move to New York. When she was a teenager, her first role as an actress was in the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been a success and has not been happy. The skilled actor been battling alcoholism as well as two marriages that failed. In 2005 her custody was taken away from her.
