Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is the Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thailand fighter as well as mixed martial artist competing at flyweight in the UFC. She is the sister of her fellow UFC fighter and former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and beat Suzane Mill in the finals by unanimous choice. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007, and a medal of bronze in 2008, and a medal gold in 2011. Then she won the title of IFMA Amateur World Muaythai Champ in the year 2016. Antonia began her professional journey in by ringing in 2003. She won the WKC K-1 World Championship 2012 for Light Welterweight and the Lion Fight Lightweight World Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final fight took place at the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She took victory by unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko broke her first professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She was able to win the second-round TKO fight as well as her two games during the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. She was able to record a 3-0 record. Shevchenko had a short break from MMA so that she could focus on the kickboxing. She made her return with a win against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko beat Anissa by a unanimous vote and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities in the clinch by striking her with her knees. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale in a fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne modafferi by split decision in her first bout. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss through defeating Lucie Pudilova during UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. It earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was 1-2 over the following three fights. She beat Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
