Shawnee Smith (born July 3 1970, 5 feet tall"3" is an American film and television actress and musician. Smith is well-known for her character Amanda Young in Saw and Linda in CBS"sitting show" Becker. Smith was part of the metal group Fydolla ho, and with whom she toured in the United States and United Kingdom. Smith is also a part of Smith & Pyle which is the desert-country band that was formed with Missi Pyle. Shawnee Smith, the second daughter of Patricia Smith who is an oncology nurse as well as Jim Smith former US Air Force pilot and financial planner, was born in Orangeburg South Carolina. Family members moved out of South Carolina to Van Nuys California when she was one year old. Her parents divorced when she was two and her mother remarried when she was eight. She went to Ranchito Avenue Elemntary School in Panorama City Los Angeles. Madison Jr. High was in North Hollywood. She was a graduate of North Hollywood High School, North Hollywood California in 1987. For her performance in the role of Rebecca Bunch Rachel won the 2015 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy the The 2016 Critics Choice Award for Best actor in a TV Comedy as well as the 2016 TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy. In the year 2019, she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and lyrics along with songwriting partners Jack Dolgen and the late Adam Schlesinger for Antidepressants Are So Not a Big Deal. Rachel is currently performing the tour for her show live Death Let Me Do My Special to be performed in the spring/summer of 2023. The Rachel's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Tour sold out Radio City Music Hall as part of a tour with multiple shows in 2019. The same year, she was also featured in her own tour, What am I going to Do now? It also included a stay of a week in the venue Just For Laughs.
